St Clement’s Primary School is located north of Aberdeen Harbour and caters for a school roll of 210 pupils and 30 nursery pupils. The design is composed of a series of portal glulam frames wrapped up by a colourful rainbow cladding that creates a safe, protected space promoting a flowing connection between classrooms and the natural environment. Recent changes in pedagogy have influenced the shape of the classroom, each has flexible partitions, audio and lighting technology and folding external doors that allow for a range of different learning and teaching styles. The school features several sustainable technologies such as natural ventilation, an insulated concrete raft foundation, ground-source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and solar tiles, which ensure a high-quality environment for learning. The school also host a community hub providing facilities for extra-curricular activities out with school hours.
